Last updated: 23 August 2026. This policy explains what personal information Funhaven collects through funhaven.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect
We only collect what we need to answer you, take a booking or complete a purchase.
- Contact form — your name, email address, phone number and whatever you write in the message.
- Party and group booking forms — your name and contact details, plus the details of the event: guest counts, preferred dates and times, the package or area you want, accessibility needs, cake choices and any notes you add. Where you tell us about accessibility or dietary requirements, we use that only to prepare for your visit.
- Gift card purchases — your name, email address and phone number, the amount, and the recipient's name and gift message if you provide them.
- Server logs — your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, kept for security and troubleshooting.

What we never collect
We do not see or store your payment card details. Card payments are handled entirely by Moneris, our payment provider: their secure form collects the card number, and this website only ever receives confirmation that a payment succeeded, plus a transaction reference. Nobody at Funhaven can retrieve your card number from this site.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange, confirm and prepare your booking or event.
- To process a gift card purchase and send you a receipt.
- To keep a record of transactions, as required for tax and accounting.
- To keep the website and our forms secure and free of spam.
- To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it — only if you have accepted analytics cookies.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
Consent
Submitting a form is your consent for us to use the information in it to respond and to handle your request. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set if you accept them. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing services@funhaven.com — though if you withdraw it for information we need to run a booking you have made, we may not be able to complete that booking.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We group ours into three categories, and nothing outside the first is set until you choose.
- Strictly necessary — required for the site to function: page routing, your language choice (English or French), and form security. These are always active and cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) and Microsoft Clarity. These tell us which pages are visited and where people get stuck, so we can improve the site.
- Marketing — set by Google Tag Manager to measure advertising and show relevant ads.
Analytics and marketing cookies stay switched off until you accept them. If you decline, Google Tag Manager stays in denied consent mode and no analytics or advertising cookies are written. Your choice is remembered for 180 days, and you can change it whenever you like.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with the service providers that make the website and our bookings work, and only as much as each one needs:
- Moneris — payment processing for gift card purchases.
- Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, reCAPTCHA and Fonts) and Microsoft (Clarity) — website analytics and spam protection. reCAPTCHA runs on our forms to block bots, and is subject to Google's own privacy policy and terms.
- Our web host and email provider — to run the site and deliver form submissions to services@funhaven.com.
Some of these providers process or store data outside Canada, including in the United States, which means that information may be accessible to the courts and authorities of those countries. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Children's privacy
Funhaven is a family venue and much of what we do is for children, but this website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children — bookings, purchases and enquiries should be made by a parent or guardian. Where a booking includes a child's details, such as the name of a birthday guest of honour, we use them only to prepare the event. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's involvement, email services@funhaven.com and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and booking records are kept only as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our legal and accounting obligations — transaction records are generally kept for seven years, as Canadian tax rules require. Server logs are kept for a short period for security. After that, information is deleted or anonymised.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are protected against automated abuse, and booking records are stored where they cannot be reached from the public web. Access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever created a real risk of significant harm we would notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, as PIPEDA requires.
Marketing email
We only send marketing email to people who have asked for it. Every such message includes an unsubscribe link that works, in keeping with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Replies to your enquiry, booking confirmations and receipts are not marketing and are sent because you contacted us or made a purchase.
Your rights
Under PIPEDA you can ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, to give you a copy, to correct anything inaccurate, and to delete information we no longer need. You can also withdraw consent, subject to legal and contractual limits. Email services@funhaven.com and we will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version published here, with the date at the top, is the current one.
